Biotechnologic researches have been carried out since 1977 in Hungary with the participation of the Animal Breeding Research Institute. Results could be reached in embryo transfer and pregnancy in cattle, pig and sheep, through embryo transfer in the Aujeszky disease exemption at pigs. The effect of vitamin A and beta carotine on the number and vitality of washed-out embryos, as well as the possibility and methods of sex orientated sperm production, were investigated in mouse and rabbit experiments. Investigations concerning inductive possibilities of parthenogenese had been started in different poultry species. Methods were also elaborated which make possible the creation of viable breeding animals of parthenogenetic origin. The aim of the applied genetechnologic experiments is to establish a cattle CDNA clone bank of hypophysis origin, and to isolate from it the growth hormone coding section /open reading frame/.
