Effect of IAA on fruit setting and yield of supersweet corn

The study revealed that weight of husked and unhusked corn, the length of ears filled up with kernel, the number of kernel per row, and the number of kernel per ear were greatly affected by the IAA treatment, both in main and in subtreatment. Analysis of variances revealed that increase in the number of application and concentration of IAA increased the weight of husked and unhusked corn, the length of ears filled up with kernel, the number of kernel per row, and the number of kernel per ear. On the other hand, the number of poorly filled ears and the number of aborted kernel in both treatment were reduced upon IAA application. No significant effect were noted on the diameter of corn ears and on the number of row of kernel per ear. These two parameters neither increased or decreased with IAA application.
