An experiment on pigs given the diet containing whole, dehulled, extruded or ensiling seeds of field bean was carried out. The decrease by 88 percent of tannin content in dehulled but not in extruded and ensiling field bean seeds was stated. Extrusion and ensiling caused a significant decreasing of trypsin inhibitor activity in field bean seeds. Extrusion and dehulling improved the nutrient digestibility but not nitrogen retention in pigs
