Determination of the bonding power of a single sunflower achene to its capitulum

The article presents the studies on the bonding power between a single sunflower achene and its capitulum, using the method of direct pulling out. The method used to measure the bonding power and that used for dividing a capitulum into the measuring zones are discussed. The studies were performed on an electromagnetic micro-machine made and adapted to our tests by the Departament of Agrophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin. The data obtained in the studies were analysed statistically. The relationship between the bonding power and moisture content is presented graphically
