[Problems in the adaptation of celery (Apium graveolens L. var. dulce Pers.) in a semiforcing cultivation for obtaining a productive late spring cycle]

The used cvs are: Florida 683, Golden Detroit, Latham Selfira and Tall Utah 52-70. The seed bed was made in november in a greenhouse with heating in order to obtain a late spring production. Transplantations were realized in february, in the open air and in low tunnels. Latham Selfira was the less susceptible cultivar to premature flower-stalk formation and to "blackheart". It has not been stated a clear influence of low tunnels over a less incidence of premature bolting but using them, commercial production of celery was higher and with more reduced level of blackheart than in the open air
