Incidence and seasonal occurrence of major insect pests associated with two lentil cultivars contrasting in seed size during the various stages of crop growth were studied at Pantnagar during the winter (Rabi) seasons of 1985-87. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications consisting of six treatments. Aphids, leaf minor, and semi-looper were the first dominant group of insect pests associated during the vegetative and flowering stages. The pod borer was the major pest during the late flowering and post reproductive stages of crop growth. Flowers and young pods were also attacked by bruchids
