Stand density and production structure of two-year old Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh. plantations

Vertical distribution curve of leaf and branch biomass attained the maximum values at an intermediate height between the canopy surface and ground level, whereas biomass of stem increased monotonously downwards in all stand density. The mean relative light intensity was inversely correlated to the cumulative biomass of leaf and leaf area index following the Beer-Lambert Law-Biomass of stem, leaf, wood and total aboveground components would be estimated appropriately by using the square of diameter at ground level multiplied by total height of tree (DoH) as the independent variable of the allometric relation except for trees in the density of 0.445 tr/ha. Plant with the density of 625 tr/ha gave the highest mean biomass per tree for stem, leaf, branch, wood and total aboveground part. The plantation planted with the density of 40,000 tr/ha had the highest yield per area for stem, leaf, branch, wood and total aboveground part.
