The fertilization and irrigation effect upon yield and quality of the Prilep tobacco variety

On the basis of investigation it could be stated that the fertilization and irrigation effect upon the yield of the oriental tobacco variety Prilep depends on the climate conditions of the year. The yield formation stands in a linear correlation with fertilization and irrigation. The general effect of fertilization and irrigation upon the increase of tobacco yield is considerably high and ranges 45,7-53,2 %. The fertilization increases the yield for 22,2% and irrigation for 16,0%. According to the results obtained during investigation, fertilization and irrigation of the Prilep tobacco variety should be a necessary cultural practices for increasing the yield and improving the quality of tobacco in the soil and climate conditions of the region of Prilep.
