Streptococcosis is a pig disease typical of farm rearing conditions. The disease localised in pig organs is manifested as entritis, meningoencephalitis, arthritis, pericarditis, pleuritis and mastitis. 209 pharyngeal smears from pigs of different age category were examined in the lab. The results showing haemolytic streptococci in 90% of smears testify a considerable distribution of the agent of this conditionally pathogenic disease. Microbiological determination of antibiotic activity on the nutritive agar plate was carried out on plates for "Torlak" - produced antibiotics: streptomycin, neomycin, tetracycline, erythromycin, penicillin chloramphenicol.
