Weed flora and vegetation in wheat crops in the Sumadija and Pomoravlje region (Serbia, Yugoslavia)

During three years (1985-1987) weed flora and vegetation in wheat crops in the Sumadija and Pomoravlje regions (Yugoslavia) were studied. There were noted 156 species in 23 locations. Floral composition was represented by 10% of monocotyledonous and 90% of dicotyledonous species. Annual species appeared 63.5% and perennial species 36,5%. Similar rations were noted in different years too. Dominant species of weeds were: Delphinium consolida, Polygonum aviculare, P. convolvulus, Chenopodim album, Ch. polyspermum, Agropyrum repens, Convolvulus arvensis, Cirsium arvense, Galium aparine, Linaria sp., Lathyrus sp. and Stachys annua. Number of weed plants per m2 depended on locations, years and other factors and ranged between 46 and 134. Association of weeds belongs to Consolida regalis - Polygonum aviculare type. Weed flora and vegetation in wheat crops pointed on the low level of applied farming methods and non-rational usage of herbicides. That was proved by significant presence of perennial weeds in floral composition. Control of weeds should be carried out only after getting acquainted with weed flora and vegetation, by combination of farming and chemical methods. To make contamination of surroundings lesser.
