Hay samples from the region of Kraljevo (Yugoslavia) originating from 8 localities situated at different sea levels (200-450 m above sea level) were examined for five consecutive years. The total of 40 samples were examined. In a five-year period the content of zinc ranged from 13.44-57.14 mg/kg or 33.02 mg/kg on average. Copper ranged from 10.69--40.32 mg/kg or 16.24 mg/kg on average. Manganese content varied from 25.25-136.58 mg/kg or 72.44 mg/kg on average, and iron was 153.50-445.00 mg/kg or 249.27 mg/kg on average. The content of the examined microelements is comparatively stable in relation to the year or locality. In addition, the comparison with the data reported in literature shows iron to be within the permissible limits, while zinc, copper and manganese fall above average values.
