Common diseases and conditions of rabbits in Barbados

Respiratory diseases of rabbits which commonly occur in Barbados are snuffles (Nasal Catarrh) and pneumonia. Diarrhoea is primarily caused by improper feeding. Mastitis and Mentritis are common among females. Ringworm is a common fungal infection. Important internal parasites are Coccidiosis and Pinworms. The symptoms of these diseases are described and the importance of isolating sick animals and consulting with a veterinarian for control is stressed.
