Study to develop technology for production of dwarf mango varieties and its nutrients requirement at various stages of growth and development [in Bangladesh]
1991
Karim, M.A.
Mango is a very important horticultural crop in Bangladesh. Little information is available on the nutrient requirement of this crop relating to its various stages of growth and development. Recommendations made so far are mostly empirical and are not based on scientific data. It was perhaps assumed that since the trees have extensive root system which can explore soil to greater depths, they could maintain themselves on inherent soil fertility for a fairly long time. Moreover since the root stock is not yet standardized, any result based on manurial trial may not be deemed to be scientific and of wider applicability. It is desirable that nutrient requirement of mango in Bangladesh condition ought to have been worked out through this project.
