Cultivar reaction to nitrate accumulation in vegetable crops

The role of the cultivar for nitrate accumulation in vegetable crop production is discussed in the article. It is underlined that the existence of big cultivar differences in this respect is a factor revealing the existence of great possibilities for a successful control of nitrate content in vegetable crops. Cultivars with lower ability for nitrate accumulation should be more widely spread and recommended in the practice for the protection of the vegetables.
