A study on the effect of systems of soil tillage in crop rotation on fertility of slightly leached chernozem in Dobrouja [Bulgaria]

It has been found that in case of slightly leached chernozem 7-year application of direct seeding and of nonmoldboard tillages they do not lead to significant changes in pH of the 0-20 cm layer. The system including tillages with disk harrow or flat cutter, or direct seeding substance reduced content of mineral nitrogen, more slightly expressed mineralizable power, and layer-by-layer differentiation of these as compared to conventional ploughing. Constant application of flat tillages by means of disk harrow, flatcutter or direct seeding, leads to increase in the amount of alkaline-hydrolyzable nitrogen along the profile depths as compared with ploughing, as well as with the remaining individually applied tillages.
