Dynamics of grassland yield formation with various combinations of nutrients

A broadly designed experiment in the field of grassland nutrition in a mountainous region of Slovakia was carried out to study mutual relationships between applied nutrients in combination with liming. From the quantitative viewpoint best results were obtained in the variant with 200 kg N, 44 kg P and 100 kg K.ha-1 and liming level of 2,0 t.ha-1 CaO. Liming had more influence on the yield increase than on its species-related structure. Application of 2,0 t.ha-1 CaO in average of four experimental years, increased yields by 0,683 t.ha-1 of dry matter. The increase, however, dropped to only 0,096 t.ha-1 of dry matter when applying 4,0 t.ha-1 CaO. These yield increases represented 10,9 percent and 1,0 percent, respectively.
