Fertility, egg hatchability and egg quality indices in guinea fowl reproduction breeding were studied. The number of hatching eggs per layer was higher than in wild ancestors, but lower than in the intensive husbandry. Daily egg collection resulted in further egg laying. Egg weight was on average lower than in the intensive husbandry, however, it complied with the requirements of the Czechoslovak standard CSN 46 6409. Egg weight slightly increased with the age of guinea fowls. Hatchability of eggs is lower compared to the intensive husbandry. It is also influenced by rearing technology and aims in the animal utilization. Egg fertility increased with prolonged egg laying. The highest embryonic mortality was recorded before hatching. The indices of external and internal egg hatching quality have generally reached lower values compared to the intensive husbandry.
