A comparison study of eight enzyme systems in different "types" of sultanina
1988
Stavrakakis, N.M. (Agricultural Univ., Athens (Greece))
The electrophoretically detected enzyme polymorphisms, as a direct product of gene's action allows the detection of the genetic structure of an organism. In the present work eight enzyme systems were studied in the pollen of six different "types" of cv Sultanina, grown in Greece. The enzymes displayed identical banding patterns in all "types" of Sultanina studied. This absence of genetic variation is consistent with the hypothesis that cv Sultanina is somatic mutation of Agriosultani and that Agriosultani is probably the direct parent of cv Sultanina
