Isolation and characterization of Corynebacterium ovis from local horses

In this study they isolated (15) isolates from sick horses which were examined in race horse stables. Three techniques were used for the production of exotoxin and lovell. Antibiotic sensitivity test was done using different kinds of antibiotic discs, and the results indicated that the organisms were sensistive to penicillin, Ampicillin, Tetracycline, Chloramphenicol, Lincocin, but all of the organisms were resistant to streptomycin. The study included also the extraction of the resistant factor, and the results indicated that the Coryn. Ovis does not carry this factor
