Studies on gene action and heritability for some quantitative characters in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
1988
Baho, M.N.
Four cultivars of wheat (Triticum aestivm L.) were used in this study in two crosses. The result, indicated that there was highly significant variability among all genetic populations for all characters in the two crosses. The selection in the segregating generations is effective for the improvement of: (l) plant height before maturity, width of third leaf, and final tillers number in the two crosses; (2) length of third leaf, and grain yield in the first cross; tillers number before maturity, and final plant height in the second cross
