Evaluation and standardization of tissue culture rinderpest vaccine and its immunogenicity in calves and cattle

This study was conducted to test and evaluate tissue culture rinderpest vaccine produced locally. A study of single-step growth curve revealed that an early adsorption of the virus after two hours of postinfection (PI) and the highest titer were detected after two days PI, but the titer remained stable till the fifth day PI for both cell-free and cell-associated viruses. Clear interaction was detected between maternally acquired antibodies and rinderpest vaccinal viruses in three weeks and one month old calves and lower degree of interaction were detected in calves of two months but it was undetectable at three month of age
