Using "Ryousaiissum" cultivar the present experiment was carried out to confirm the existence of cooperation phenomenon under field conditions. Dense planting plot, sparse planting plot and medium density plot were prepared, and the planting distance of dense planting plot was 3 x 3 cm, that of sparse planting plot was 25 x 25 cm, and that of medium density plot was 9 x 9 cm. Seeds were sowed Oct. 28 in 1976. 17 days 21 days, 28 days, 61 days and 97 days after sowing the investigations on plant height, top fresh weight and its air-dry weight were carried out. Further 17 days and 21 days after sowing underground part fresh weight, its air-dry weight, whole plant body fresh weight and its air-dry were investigated. From the results of these investigations the authors recognized that cooperation phenomenon exists in broad bean seedling community during three months or more after sowing
