Use of foliage applied herbicides at low rates and volume on annual weeds control in coffee

Several foliage herbicides were evaluated at low rates of application using low volume nozzles on annual weeds in Kenya coffee in 1990. These were Glufosinate Ammonium, Paraquat Glyphosate 90g/l 180g/l and 100g/lplus simazine 280g/l. Glufosinate, Paraquat and Glyphosate 180g/l performed well as annual weed killers at 1.0 l/ha while Simazine and Glyphosate 90g/l were better at 2.0 l/ha. Paraquat did not control Bidens pilosa effectively at the evaluation site.
