[Experimental determination of germination capacity of certain crops in different saline concentration and qualitative composition]

An experiment was conducted in Chapingo, Mexico, in order to observe the effect that salts have on the germination of certain crops with reference to a straight-line model that relates salinity concentration in several treatments to electric conductivity, as well as osmotic pressure resulting from the treatments. It was concluded that germination is delayed at moderate saline levels, although germination percentage is not affected; high saline concentrations affect germination by delaying it and reducing emergence percentage, depending on the crops observed. Salt contents in treatments and electric conductivity along with osmotic pressure do relate in a linear trend that concurs with a straight-line model having no ordinate to the origin.

Se realizo un experimento en Chapingo, Mexico, cuyo objetivo fue observar el efecto de las sales sobre la germinacion de algunos cultivos agricolas y relacionar mediante un modelo de linea recta la concentracion salina de cada tratamiento con la conductividad electrica y con la presion osmotica generada por los mismos tratamientos. Se concluyo que niveles moderados de salinidad retardan la germinacion pero no los porcentajes de emergencia, pero los altos afectan ambos factores, dependiendo del cultivo. Tambien se observo que la relacion del contenido de sales de los tratamientos con la conductividad electrica y la presion osmotica generada por los mismos, tiene tendencia lineal, ajustandose a un modelo de linea recta sin ordenada al origen.
