Growth and yield of summer barley and oats in pure sowing and in mixtures
1991
Michalski, T. (Akademia Rolnicza, Poznan (Poland). Katedra Uprawy Roli i Roslin)
In mixtures oat was found to grow in similar way as in pure sowing whereas barley was found to spread in a worse way and produced fewer ears in proportion to pure sowing. An evaluation of the farming value of grain mixtures should comprise the fodder value of seeds. Mixtures should not be treated as marketable agricultural product; seeds should be used to meet the farm's own requirements
