Effect of animal slurry on the yields of maize grown in monoculture
1989
Machul, M. | Malysiak, B. (Instytut Uprawy Nawozenia i Gleboznawstwa, Pulawy (Poland))
Growing of maize in 5 year monoculture did not result in any decline in the crop yields. The lowest yields were obtained in the treatments with not-fertilized maize and with fertilization only with P and K. In the remaining treatments the grain and straw yields did not depend on the type of fertilization nor on the proportion of the slurry active N in the total dose of applied N. The application of slurry at rates equivalent to 90 and 120 kg/ha of the active N did not result in any significant changes in the nutrient content of maize grain and straw
