Three triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack) cultivars- Beagle 82, Florida 201 and Florico-were evaluated as replacements for maize and part of the supplemental protein source (soybean meal) in swine diets. Two feeding trials involving starting pigs (8 to 25 kg) and six involving growing-finishing pigs (27 to 98 kg) were conducted. Lysine content of Beagle 82, Florida 201 and Florico averaged (90 percent moisture-free basis) 0.45 percent, 0.42 percent and 0.41 percent, respectively. Each of the triticales satisfactorily replaced all the maize and, because their lysine content is higher than maize, part of the soybean meal (35 to 50 kg per 1000 kg of mixed diet) in typical maize-soybean meal-based diets for starting and growing-finishing swine. Average replacement (energy) value of each of these three triticales was estimated at 95 to 100 percent of that of maize
