Optimalization of soil cultivation for winter wheat growing after spring barley
1992
Kovac, K. (Vyskumny Ustav Rastlinnej Vyroby, Piestany (Slovak Republic))
In a three-year field experiment on brown loam soils the effect of soil cultivation (date, depth and tillage) on field emergence rate, number of spikes and yield of winter wheat grain was observed. Totally higher mean values of the observed indices and interdependency between the number of springing plants and grain yield were found after earlier ploughing (10-5 weeks before sowing) and after medium-deep ploughing by plough with pre-plough (depth 0.20 to 0.22 m). The yield of winter wheat grain considerably fluctuated after sowing into non-cultivated soil in specific years.
