Study on acute toxicity of lead and cadmium to white sea bass fingerlings, Lates calcarifer (Bloch) were conducted by using the static bioassay during and exposure period of 96 hours in sea water at the level of 30 ppt. The toxicity was reasured in term of median lethal concentration in 96 hours (96-h LC50), and safe concentrations predicted by LFPI concept. Lead was less toxic to Lates calcarifer (Bloch) than cadmium. The 96-h LC55 of lead was 138.0 ppm, regardless of the actual concentration of lead which was present in the water due to the precipitation, and the 96-h LC50 of cadmium was 3.7 ppm the safe concentration of lead and cadmium range from 2.760-6.900 and 0.074-0.185 ppm respectively.
