The long-term fixed-position fertilizer experiments were conducted in 1981-1990. The results showed that N and P fertilizers or manure on combined application had a significant yield increasing effect and N fertilizer and manure on combined application produced higher yields than those by N and P fertilizer in balance application. Long-term application of manure can improve soil organic matter, total N, P and alkalized N and available P nutrients. Application of chemical fertilizer had no apparent effect upon soil organic matter and total N content, but application of N and P fertilizer can raise soil alkalized N and available P contents
