This thesis is based upon a series of experiments which were undertaken to evaluate the development of immunity and immune responses to gastrointestinal trichostrongyles in grazing cattle which have been subject to different anthelmintic treatments under Danish conditions. Studies were also conducted on the pathogenicity and development of host immune responses in experimental concurrent infections with Ostertagia ostertagi and Cooperia oncophora, and for comparison with monospecific infection with O. ostertagi, under conditions simulating natural conditions on pasture. Moreover, some studies were made on the possible control of trichostrongyle infections in grazing cattle by supplementary feeding
