Tuvi, A. | Turp, A. (Institute of Animal Breeding and Veterinary Science, Tartu (Estonia))
An experiment was conducted at the Kurtna Poultry Breeding Experimental Station to determine the consequences of using different varieties of rapeseed in broiler rations. Five varieties of rapeseed "Topas", "Horizon", "Sonja", "SV 02268" and "SV 03342" were included in the rations at the level of 10 per cent. The composition of the diets used and the results are shown in Table 1. It is apparent from the results of this experiment that body weight and feed gain of broilers is related to the variety of the rapeseed used in the ration. This can be explained on the basis of the different glucosinolate content of different varieties of rapeseed
