Susceptibility of maize inbred lines and hybrids to potyviruses in greenhouse and field conditions

Six inbred lines and six hybrids were evaluated in greenhouse and field conditions following mechanical inoculation with maize dwarf mosaic Potyvirus A strain and two strains of sugarcane mosaic Potyvirus. Inheritance of resistance was largely dominant in inbred Pa405 both in field and greenhouse tests. Resistance in inbred Oh514 appeared to be dominant in the field but intermediate in the greenhouse
