The assessments of forest damages has been carried out in blocks of 16 x 16 km, and the oecological investigations have been conducted on 65 parcels. According to the ecosystem-principles, the whole forestry communities were taken as a basis rather than the individual trees. On the experimental parcels the characteristic investigated were climatic conditions, pH-values, and productivity. Discolourations, bud and shoot damages were found in the damaged forests. The value of the bud and shoot damages was greatest among the beech trees, and it was the lowest among the coniferous trees. As far as the damages observed on the stems are concerned, tinder fungus was frequent on the Turkey oak, and the appearance of shield scales on pedunculate oaks and frostcracks on poplars was noted. At the lowest parts of stem, it was the appearance of Fomes in the case of coniferous species and the mechanical damages in the case of the beech trees which could be observed
