Central tendency and distribution of trawl survey data in Java Sea [Indonesia]

This study was based on the analysis of trawl survey data collected in the north coast of Java waters. The analysis was made by means of simple data exploratory analysis. The results showed that these data tended to be skewed to the left, and the dependence of variance on the mean has occurred. In spite of the fact that trawl data distributed in the form of non-gaussian function, the use of median or other free distribution estimates is suggested as a base for estimating the abundance of demersal resources
