Status of inland water quality in North Sulawesi

Although some investigations on the inland water quality have been done in North Sulawesi recently, most of the results reported are made for local use only, and little information is more widely available. This paper reviews the investigations carried out in the past as a basis for planning and carrying out future investigations, monitoring and management plan. The results showed that the status of inland water in North Sulawesi, depending on its uses and environmental conditions, ranges from unpolluted to heavily polluted, oligotroph to eutroph or nearly senescent stage.
