Natural regeneration of Philippine dipterocarps: case study of PICOP'S forests

This study summarizes information from recent investigations on the Philippine dipterocarps as to composition, structure, volume, utilization and marketing of the timber. Ecological data as to their habitat, growth, development and response to cultural, harvesting and regeneration treatments are discussed. Present attempts to conserve them through government programmes with the involvement of the people are indicated.
