Occurence of Retithrips syriacus on avocado in Israel and trials in controlling the pest by insecticides of plant origin
1993
Yizhar, Y.
The black vine thrips, Retithrips syriacus Mayet, have caused recently damage to avocado fruits. Field evaluation studies showed differences in the susceptibility of avocado cultivars to the pest. The cultivars Horshim, 4102 and TX-531 were the most infested ones. In field trials to control R. syriacus on avocado fruits and leaves, Veratran D (Sabadilla) 2 was found to be more effective than Veratran D 1 or Ryan 50 (Ryania) 2
