The number of agricultural workers has decreased dramatically year by year, and many young people have left rural areas. Therefore, the shortage of young farmers and their brides is critical in terms of sustaining Japanese rural agriculture. The purpose of the study is to analyze actual opinions on the problems of farm family members, especially farmer's sons and to clarify the trends in rural marriage in non-farm people. In order to do this, some 111 rural married males, 74 married women, 32 rural bachelors, and 167 non-rural young women were surveyed in Gifu and Aichi Prefectures
