Medina, E.B. | Heong, K.L. (International Rice Research Inst., Los Banos, Laguna (Philippines))
The study investigated the relationship between body lengths and width, pronotum width, tibia length and average daily fecundity (number of eggs laid/female/day) of brachyterous and macropterous brown planthopper reared on TN1, IR26 and IR36. Analysis of covariance shows a highly significant effect of the wingform on the average number of eggs laid/day. The covariates, insect length and width, pronotum width and tibia length had no significant effect on the average number of eggs laid/day on the susceptible variety TN1 but they had significant effects on IR26 and IR36, respectively.
