Women's participation in mangrove conservation and management in Alabat, Quezon [Philippines]

Data revealed that there was significant relationship between women's participation in community activities and education, annual family income and number of perceived benefits. Similarly, household size and awareness of benefits received from mangrove resources and number of perceived benefits were significantly related to attendance in mangrove-related community meetings. Age was found to be significantly related to participation in mangrove production activities. No single socio-demographic-economic and psychological variable was observed significantly related to participation on mangrove conservation activities. There was a significant relationship between participation on managing resources and length of stay in the community and awareness of agencies working in mangrove conservation. Finally, awareness of agencies working in mangrove conservation was found to be significantly related to perception of level of participation
