Effect of dry matter content in wilted grasses on the quality and nutritive value as well as on dry matter losses in silage

In two year experiments, the fresh pasture grasses or wilted up to 22.9, 29.7, 36.9 or 44.0 percent of dry matter content were ensiled. The significant higher dry matter content in wilted grass silage than in that from fresh grasses was stated. No significant effect of grass wilting on nutritive value and nutrient digestibility in silage was observed
