Unpollinated ovaries of Hordeum vulgare L.cv. Diva were cultured on modified Miller's (1963) medium for obtaining gynogenetic plants in vitro. Callus developed in the basal part of some ovaries. Green plants were regenerated from this callus before transferring it on the fresh medium. The ovary-derived callus gave albino plantlets after three months of subculture on the same medium. Cells with the haploid number of chromosomes were observed in root tips of green plants analysed
