Effect of the date of planting and nitrogen fertilization on the potato yield quality

Results of four-year investigations concerning potato planting nitrogen fertilization proved the effect of these factors on formation of some yield traits of the Aba and Tarpan varieties. Planting potatoes in the third decade of May led to a decrease of the dry matter and starch content and to an increase of some protein compounds. The nitrogen fertilization with the rates of 0, 80, and 160 kg N/ha increased linearly the total and true protein content and modified the share of amino acids in the protein fraction
