Evaluation of some rose cultivars in glasshouse production

Eight rose cultivars were tested: Sonia, Queen of Bermuda, Interflora, Belle Epoque, Roter Stern, Ilona, Carina, and Baccara. The results of two years trial, in large production condition, showed that the highest number of cut flowers was got of cv. Sonia, Carina and Queen of Bermuda (13.6, 10.4, 9.0 flowers per plant). The remain red coloured cultivars had lower yield but better length of the flower stems. The plants had three blooming times in the first season of the year, from March to end of July and two blooms in the autumn
