On the base of three-years field experiments there was determined the effect of spray irrigation and two levels of NPK fertilization on the contents of amino acids in sugar beet leaves, potato tubers and winter wheat grain. The contents of amino acids were determined on an amino acid analyser after hydrolysis in 6N hydrochloric acid. Spray irrigation was bringing about a decrease in the content of amino acids determined in the tested plants. The exception was winter wheat grain in which the water factor increased the contents of all endogenous acids except glycine. Quadruple increase of the NPK dosage was found to have decreased the sum of amino acids in the plants tested, in the case of potato tubers and winter wheat grain the more of endogenous than exogenous ones
