Screening for tolerance to terminal heat stress in lentil [Lens culinaris]

Fourteen genotypes of small-seeded lentil were screened for tolerance to terminal heat stress under normal and late planting conditions by determining the percentage of pod set. Genotypes LL 147, LG 265, LG 224, LL 56 and LG 186 were tolerant to terminal heat stress under normal planting. Genotypes L 9-12, LG 128 and LG 178 showed moderate tolerance. Under late planting, most of the genotypes exhibited tolerance to terminal heat stress, indicating that the stage of the crop also contributes to tolerance
