On specificity of enthomopathogenic viruses

The results of pest insects infestation with nonspecific baculoviruses are presented. Cytological experiments have confirmed the reproduction of some baculoviruses in the cells of an unusual host, but there are multiple anomalous forms of the nuclear polyhedrosis and granulosis virus. The infestation by a strange virus that contains a great number of nucleocapsides conditions the increased insects mortality. The questions are discussed of the insects susceptibility to the strange viruses and of the perspective of the performing of highly active baculovirus races for the development of new viral insecticides
