Effect of zinc, silicon and selenium salts on reproduction and growth of silver fox

The additives of zinc (13.00 mg.kg-1 of dry matter), silicon (6.00 mg.kg-1) and selenium (0.50 mg.kg-1 of dry matter) were added into feed rations for female silver foxes in the reproduction period and for youngs during the postnatal evolution. The effect of these elements on reproductive properties of females, growth and evolution of youngs was positive. 13 mg.kg-1 of fed dry matter, during mating period positivelly affects fertility and the number of viviparous youngs (P=0.05 or less). Mineral salts fed in postnatal period inhibit growth of youngs during the first months. They positively influence the wintering of animals. However, their addition into feed rations for foxes is not recommended.
