Effect of different level of poultry premix to supply in fish meat for juvenile seabass (Lates calcarifer)

Seabass (Lates calcarifer) juveniles with an average individual weight of 0.28 g were stocked in glass aquariums filled with 30 l. of sea water at a rate of 15 fish per tank. They were fed twice a day with minced fish meat containing 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 % poultry premix (Adiuvit) until fish were satiated for a period of 60 days. Fish fed with supplement diet 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 % of poultry premix showed similar survival rate while 0 and 0.5 % were rather low. Weight gain of 0.5 % was non significant with 2,3 and 4 % but the 0.5 % was different significant with 0, 5 and 10 % accordingly. Consequently, 0 and 10 % of poultry premix showed the lowest growth rate and the best level of poultry premix to supply in fish meat is 1%, high survival rate and high weight gain. Fish fed the diet with no poultry premix had high mortality, poor growth rate and found following symptom, loss of equilibrium, body color become black, loss of caudal fin and died afterward. It could be concluded that an addition of poultry premix and its optimum level to be added in fish meat diet for seabass is highly necessary and be careful.
